Rafting the Colorado River

These shots are from a trip to Southern Utah in 1979. I was asked to be in a documentary film for the Utah Travel Council about the remote Canyon Lands and the Colorado River that cuts through them.

We spent two weeks hauling film crews and equipment through incredible and hostile country, including an area called the Maze that is unlike anything I've ever seen. We rafted through Cataract Canyon which contains the most severe rapids in North America, and were nearly all killed while the cameras rolled on shore.

The Utah Travel Council figured no one in their right mind would visit the state after viewing the footage. The film was never released and my acting career never recovered.
