Alaska 2001

Many years ago, while on a backpacking trip to Idaho, I met a man who told me about a remarkable journey he had once taken over a road through Canada and the Yukon called the Alaska Highway. After dreaming about it for years I finally took the trip in the summer of 2001. I traveled over 9,000 miles in my truck and saw most of the State of Alaska that can be reached by road, as well as much of the Yukon, British Columbia and Alberta.

The pictures here capture some of what I saw on that trip. All were taken with a Canon EOS D30 digital SLR camera.
