Alaska 2003

In June of 2003 I took my second driving trip to Alaska, repeating a journey I took back in the summer of 2001. I logged just over 8,000 miles traveling from my home in California to just a few miles south of the Arctic Circle. The trip had one primary goal: to shoot a least one photograph of a North American Grizzly Bear in the wild, something I had never before achieved. Toward the end of the trip I was fortunate to have three very close encounters with grizzlies during a single day in the Yukon.

All of these photographs were taken with a Canon EOS 1Ds Digital SLR camera.
